Nail Polish Review - Models Own 'Indian Ocean'

So what better way to start a blog than with a nail polish review!

I'm going to start by reviewing my most recent purchase, and a shade I've been trying to get hold of for ages... 'Indian Ocean' from Models Own's Beetlejuice collection.

UK nail polish fans may be well versed in Models Own products - with a huge range of colours and effects they're a big brand in the cosmetics market here! And rightly so as their products are stunning and great value for money. Indian Ocean is no exception.

Pale blue with iridescent pink flecks this is definitely the shade for layering! It takes about 4 or 5 layers to get the colour on bare nails but the same effect can be achieved by popping on 1 or 2 coats on top of a pale pink shade such as Essie's 'Muchi Muchi'. Catch it in the right light and you'll see a whole spectrum of colours from lilac to pink to green and gold. It applies really smoothly and lasts well depending on nail growth and daily activities! The only fault I would have to pick is that due to the number of layers needed to get the full effect on bare nails, it takes a bit too long to dry if, like me, you're not patient enough. As a result I kept knocking it and smudging it and having to start again. If you are patient between layers though it's well worth the wait!

A truly beautiful shade at £5 it's a real bargain. Pick yours up at Boots or at modelsownit.com! International buyers won't be able to buy it from the website at the moment as shipping has been suspended outside the UK, but checkout ninjapolish.com and harlowandco.org for US sellers or have a google!

Next time I'll be reviewing Essie's 'Muchi Muchi' (as seen above)!
